Michael K. Ito has over thirty years of public accounting experience providing accounting, financial and compliance audits, financial statement review, compilation, preparation, and consulting services to small and middle-market businesses and organizations. Mike has worked with various entities in the not-for-profit, construction, hospitality, property management, financial services, retail/wholesale service, and utility sectors. 

 

Mike also serves as an Adjunct Professor in Accounting at Kapiolani Community College where he teaches accounting classes to tomorrow’s professionals.

 

Prior to joining Verity CPAs, Mike worked in various capacities in public accounting with Taketa, Iwata, Hara & Associates, Gilford Sato & Associates, CPAs, Inc., KPMG, LLP (formally known as Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co,), KPMG Consulting, and Nishihama & Kishida, CPAs, Inc. (now known as N&K CPAs). Mike has also worked in the private sector as a Chief Financial Officer, Controller and Treasury Management Analyst in the utilities, financial services, and retail/wholesale services industries.

 

Mike is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and Chaminade University of Honolulu with a Master of Business Administration degree. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Hawaii Society of CPAs, and the Hawaii Association of Public Accountants. Additionally, Mike volunteers at Hui Makaala of Hawaii, a local Okinawan scholarship organization.
